Well, what a week it’s been. I’m exhausted. Miss 4 had four birthday celebrations. She is convinced now that next year she’ll have five, the year after that six… and so on.
In amongst the madness of squealing 4yo girls dancing in the lounge room, the 2yo Who Never Sleeps hyped up on daily chocolate cake fixes and an over excited baby – I have found myself reacquainting myself with loose leaf tea.
What, no gin? Well, there was plenty of that too, but the ritual of the tea making, the smell, the warmth, the calm which settles over me while I snatch those precious moments to quietly sip my tea – nothing’s the same. For the next birthday in this house, I think we’ll just have one big party!
Ps: Happy Wedding Anniversary Twiggy! Best six years of my life xx

what an exciting week for your family!! I have monkey’s 7th birthday party tomorrow, so thanks for the visual of screaming little girls…sigh – think I’ll go and make a cup of tea 🙂

Happy Anniversary!
Four birthday parties in one week, my opinion of you has just gone through the stratosphere.
After my freshly squeezed juice I’ll definitely be making myself a cup of tea to kick start my fuzzy morning brain.
Here’s to a wonderful day ahead!

Just wait until they become obsessed with celebrating their ‘half’ birthdays too. My son’s are both counting down the days to their ‘half’ birthdays in March…like it is a proper bloody birthday! Goddam their American Hallmark-Find-An-Excuse-To-Spend-Even-More-Money upbringing. If they are expecting anything more than half a cupcake with a 2nd hand candle and possibly half a card, then they are going to be severely disappointed. Oh the power – to be able to kill your child’s dreams…
BTW – love your blog. Can’t believe I have only just found it. Funny. Funny. Funny.
I love my tea rituals (pot, loose leaf, choosing a tea to suit my mood) – and I have a gorgeous big tea cup thanks to Mr Styling You. During my month of not drinking, tea was my vice (sad but true).
Ahh tea. Yes it’s not just the taste, it is all about the ritual. I loathe tea bags. It’s loose leaf all the way. Such a calming thing to do. In fact I may prepare one now. 🙂
Yes, tea! I’d never been much of a tea drinker, but lately I’ve been finding my loose leaf fruit tea(well, no leaves in there just berries & stuff!) is my ‘go to’ when things start getting crazy(eg. always!) xx
I just love that your daughter thinks that her age will match the number of birthday celebrations she has!
Have a great weekend.

How on earth did she manage to get 4 birthday celebrations in! How on earth did you!!? You have definitely dug a hole there, mumma!
Happy birthday x 4 to your lovely little Miss. x
Tea. Surely the drink of the gods…
I have recently lashed out and started buying myself Tea 2 tea and when my in laws “popped in” recently, (they live over 100km away) I got the box out and asked if anyone else wanted a cup of proper tea.
“oh” says my FiL, “I dont really like that stuff from Aldi”
Arrrr, ok then, just tea for me.
Calmness came over me as I consumed my Russian caravan.
Oh, yes, good tea is lovely. I preferred coffee for many years, but my Mr has gradually introduced me to proper tea and I lvoe the ritual of sitting down with a pot of tea with someone special.
I had my Miss 6 birthday party this weekend 22 kids + a pool party, loads of fun, it must of been a perfect weekend for parties ! I love your blog the design is so beautiful. Cu at the bloggers conference.
I’ve rediscovered tea – wonderful stuff (which is not to say that gin isn’t…!)
That is such an adorable photo!! Happy birthday to little Miss 4!
What a gorgeous-looking blog! I am a long-term tea fan; borderline tea snob – I have been known to inwardly sigh at the presentation of limp tea bag in stainless-steel leaky pots that passes as ‘a pot of tea’ in many a cafe…!
I love the ritual of making a good cup of tea and finding a quiet moment (well as quiet as it can be with the incessant chatter of a three year old) to just sit and sip 🙂
