Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for me for a number of reasons.
Firstly, one of my posts was republished on Mia Freedman’s Mamamia site.
Just click this link to take you there.
I’d love it if you could pop on over and leave a bit of support, because man, you are the kindest readers a chick could ever hope for. And I know this because of what also happened yesterday. It made me a little teary and also spurred me on BIG TIME.
You see I wrote this post about my ongoing weight loss struggles and within seconds I had some of the most wonderful messages of support and love. Like this…
I know people online can be awfully nasty and judgemental at times, but I like to believe in the good of people. And I like to surround myself with good people – and you, my friends, are better than good – YOU ARE AMAZING.
With that little extra skip in my step, I completed Day 1 brilliantly. I ate good food. I went for a walk and I made an effort to be kinder to myself. I know that if I feel like I am faltering I can come to my safe place – this blog – and call out for you to inspire me with your stories. And if you need me, you know where to find me.
We are in this together. One day at a time.
Thank you.
bigwords xx
When I first read the comments on MM yesterday, I felt sick. Then I read your response, and thought you handled yourself brilliantly. And well done on such a great start on Day One! One day at a time is the best way to go! x
So happy to hear of the great support you are receiving. You deserve it.You give so much of your time to your readers it is nice to know we can give something back.
Isnt it wonderful that blogs and twitter can be used to help and support one another…thats just how it should be.All here for one another any time day or night.
You go girl.Big encouraging hugs.Xx
Support really does make such a big difference. Glad you have support! Saw the mamamia post yesterday and commented! Great read x
🙂 I love it when I see the sisterhood in action! Makes my heart squeal with delight!!
I have enough negative speak in my own head with out having to hear or read it, so I don’t. I was just thinking this morning, if we – as in the collective “we” don’t give the nay Sayers the attention and energy, then we aren’t allowing their negativity to affect us. I know it sounds simple in theory. I haven’t been on the receiving end of online vitriol but I have seen it in action. If I ever was, I think after seeing what it does, I would just delete, and ignore. That would be my choice. Life is too precious to waste on people who want to bring me down.
Keep doing what you do so beautifully. Keep being you. X
Ps. Have you sent me that email yet?
NIce work Bianca! When you write about your life for the world to see, you have to expect and be prepared for the ‘ nasty knockers’. Thankfully the number of supporting & caring people far exceed the knockers.
All the best with your weight loss quest.
Hi, I saw your article on Mamamia and came to your site to have a look. I’m glad i did, I just read some of your posts and they are great. Definitely agree with your “5 reasons Australia is..” post and agree 100% – especially about the axing of the Circle. And then they put on American rubbish… a sad day for Australian TV. Wanted to quickly say hello, I’ll go back to exploring your site now 🙂
You rock. You give so much to others through your amazing writing, you deserve all the love and support to come back to you too. Man, does that sound cheesy? it’s been a long day and I can barely keep my eyes open xx
I only came across your blog yesterday when I read the post on Mamamia, and I liked your writing so much I’ve come here to read more! I think you’re very brave to put yourself out there so honestly and I say Boo to any knockers! I’ve been on my weight-loss journey on/off for the past 9 months but have been really trying to be serious about it for the past month or so. It is hard! But it’ll be worth it. Anyway, all the best and I look forward to reading more of your blog 🙂
