Winter sun streaming through the window. The heater’s on. All the girls are on school holidays and today has been declared Stay At Home Make Biscuits, Do Craft and Laze Around Day.
I’m acutely aware of how lucky we are. We have a house to build our memories, peaceful streets, food to eat, time on our hands to play, we are not running from danger or trekking to water. We were born here. We so easily could have been born elsewhere. Life could be so different for us. It is the luck of draw. Gratefulness is important. Kindness is too.
Today I relish our freedoms. My girls and I, wrapped up in love.
I am so very grateful for days like these.
What are you grateful for?
bigwords x
PS: The photos in this post were taken with an Olympus OM-D E-M10 camera. The camera is perfect for me – it’s so light, looks freaking hip and is really easy to use, even for me. I’m really liking its inbuilt ArtFilters, Wifi and a nifty image transfer option. It helps me play around with the look of the photos both as I shoot them, but also when I’ve already taken them. I can also add my logo to them before easily sharing them on my social media networks. And as anyone who knows me, anything that helps in my over-sharing obsession is awesome.
* This is my second challenge post for the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Olympus My Family Lens Competition. I’m trying to win an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Camera. I really, really want one. I do not want to have to return my loan camera. I love it and have named it Sonny.
I love these photos Bianca! x
Thanks so much. It’s amazing what using an actual camera, rather than just my phone, does! x
Beautiful images! Just gorgeous x
Thanks you. I’m still learning, but I’m loving it x
During these winter months I am so grateful to have a roof over my head, a warm bed to climb into each night & food enough to fill our bellies. Simple things but so often taken for granted.
we are so very lucky aren’t we – warm homes and comfy beds xx
Hey, great pics!
I want that camera now (of course).
I love the post too. We had a similar day yesterday, but I was all guilt ridden because even though we did the baking and the crafting, there was a lot of MINEcrafting, as I had to write a speech.
I like your take on it (as always).
xx
OUr kids are yet to Minecraft. Should I introduce them to it?? x
I love this little peek into your life hun, your girls are just divine and omg is that a cake in a mug? I so need to try that if it is – actually I want it like right now! x
I wish it was cake in a cup, but alas it’s the mixing bowl. I could’ve eaten the whole bowl x
I treasure those days spent in my little family bubble in our home. Lovely photos Bianca, though, it seems a little cruel to have to give the camera back! Hoping you win it!
Oh gosh me too! The camera is so awesome x
Fabulous photos Bianca, camera looks amazing. I love to drink in those days too, they’re gold xx
Thx. golden days indeed x
What lovely pics! I wish I was there today! Thanks for reminding me of how simple a day can be with your family. A really nice reminder. Blessings! Visiting from Considering Grace (through Weekend Rewind). Blessings!
How lovely of you. Hope your day is filled with joy x
Stunning photos Bianca! I’m in love with my Nikon D80, but your pics would make me look elsewhere next time around!
